Introduction:
|
Play a 3-minute video from www.spellingcity.com to introduce
compound words in a short passage.
|
|
Step 1
|
Students discuss video and the highlighted
words. At the end of the video, teacher will ask students if they recognized anything special about the words that were highlighted. Each group will come up with a definition for compound words. Teacher
will verify or correct their submissions.

|
Step 2
|
Students will give their own examples of
compound words.
|
|
Step 3
|
Students will be given a list of ten compound
words to learn. The “teach me” link on www.spellingcity.com
can be used to help them learn to spell these words.
|
|
Closure/Evaluation:
|
Students will complete a mini-test where they
must complete sentences using compound words. This will be done using the mouse-mischief technique.

I'm not seeing the development of objectives 3 and 4.
ReplyDeleteThe video will give students a guide which will enable them to construct simple compound words hence use them to formulate sentences
